What Is Malnutrition And Its Effects?

Malnutrition is a term that refers to deficiencies, excesses, or sometimes imbalance in the necessary nutrients. In simple words, malnutrition is defined as the lack of necessary nutrients in the body. Poor diet, digestive conditions or other diseases are some of the most common causes of malnutrition that can lead to fatigue, dizziness and weight loss.

These complications seem very mild but their complications are severe enough to make you ill. For example, imagine what will happen if you stop eating. The same can happen in the case of malnutrition. The only way to deal with it is to feed yourself with necessary nutrients, which could be in any form raw, medicine or supplements.

What Is Erectile Dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction(ED) is a kind of sexual dysfunction in which a man fails to attain a sufficiently firm erection to engage in sexual intercourse. Such dysfunction is common among men and may occur due to insufficient flow of blood through the penis.

However, there are medicines available in the market that can help you get a firm erection, such as Cenforce 200. Sildenafil citrate is a chemical compound in Cenforce 200 that directly works on the enzyme responsible for erection. But never consume any medicine, even Cenforce 200, without consulting the doctor.

Malnutrition & ED

An unhealthy diet with not insufficient nutrients can increase the risk of developing ED symptoms. As per Healthline, taking proper care of yourself and taking sufficient nutrients can help you prevent or manage ED symptoms.

Let’s make it more clear with some explanation. Below are some of the activities that are necessary to resolve or manage ED symptoms, such as:-

  • Regular exercise
  • Nutritious diet
  • Maintaining a healthy weight
  • Limiting alcohol consumption
  • Avoid tobacco use

Among the points as mentioned above, you can see clearly how important a nutritious diet is. Without it, a person cannot perform exercise regularly or maintain a healthy weight, increasing the risk of developing ED symptoms.

A study in NCBI says:-

  • ED symptoms are found less common in men who follow a Mediterranean diet.
  • Maintaining a healthy weight also helps in resolving ED symptoms
  • Men consuming western diets have low semen quality.

As malnutrition may lead to ED symptoms, men undergoing malnutrition often have difficulty with erection and consequently try to self medicate through pills like Cenforce 200. However, Cenforce 200 may even not work properly if you do not feed yourself with necessary nutrients.

Cenforce 200 may show its effects the best if you have an empty stomach. But the same medicine, Cenforce 200 may worsen if your body is already weak and may even show its side effects.

What Nutrients Cause Malnutrition?

Vitamin B-9(Folate)

Vitamin B-9 is responsible for creating red blood cells and for the production of DNA. Vitamin B-9 is usually referred to as folate, which helps develop the brain and improves the functioning of the nervous system.

Vitamin B-9 is mainly responsible for fetal development, such as the child’s brain and spinal cord. Such a vitamin deficiency will result in severe birth defects, infant’s growth problems, or anaemia.

Foods that are rich in vitamin B-9 are as follows:-

  • Beans and lentils
  • Green leafy vegetables
  • Citrus fruits
  • Asparagus
  • Meats, such as poultry and pork
  • Shellfish
  • Fortified grain products
  • Whole grains

Try to consume cooked or dried beans rather than canned beans as it contains half the amount of folate as compared to cooked or dried beans. In the United States, people get ample beans, but pregnant women do not prefer eating it even though they are for a healthy pregnancy.

According to the National Institute of Health(NIH), women who are expecting a baby should consume 400 micrograms of folic acid in a day apart from the folate they will consume naturally from the diet in order to avoid any birth defects.

Cobalamin (vitamin B-12)

Vitamin B-12 is a type of vitamin B that is responsible for the development of healthy red blood cells and people who generally have to face the problem related to its deficiency are as follows:-

  • People who have a history of gastric surgery
  • People over 60 years old
  • People with diabetes
  • Who consume metformin (Glucophage)
  • People who have a history of antacid use
  • Lack of intrinsic factor

The stomach’s intrinsic factor secreted is a transport protein that later combines with B-12 and takes it to the small intestine for absorption. In this way, the body absorbs and further utilizes B-12 Vitamin.

A person with vitamin B-12 deficiency also needs to consume an ample amount of calcium through food to assist B-12 absorption in the small intestine.

Signs and symptoms of vitamin B-12 deficiency consists of:-

  • fatigue and weakness in extremities
  • dizziness
  • shortness of breath
  • Pernicious anaemia
  • Loss of weight
  • Nausea or poor appetite
  • Sore, red, or a swollen tongue
  • Pale or yellowish skin

In case if a person is deficient in Vitamin B-12 and left untreated, it can lead to irreversible damage to the nervous system and can also result in severe complications, such as:-

  • Difficulty while walking
  • Weakness in muscles
  • Irritability
  • Dementia
  • Depression
  • Loss of memory

In order to diagnose the deficiency of vitamin B-12, the doctor may prescribe you to undergo some blood tests, such as:-

  • levels of vitamin B-12
  • methylmalonic acid
  • intrinsic factor antibodies

Treatment of deficiency is available in various ways, such as:-

  • Consuming food rich in vitamin B-12, such as red meat, animal products, and vegetarian sources(plant-based milk and nutritional yeast)
  • Consuming vitamin B-12 supplements
  • Vitamin B-12 injections
  • Blood transfusions

Vitamin D deficiency

Harvard’s School of Public Health reports that around 1 billion people worldwide do not consume a sufficient amount of vitamin D, especially people with dark complications who are at a higher risk of vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D is necessary to keep your bones healthy and helps the body maintain the optimum calcium levels to regulate the development of teeth and bones. A lack of vitamin D can result in stunted or poor bone growth. In addition, a person who has a deficiency of both calcium and vitamin D will have to suffer from Osteoporosis and porous or fragile bones that break very easily.

Foods that are rich in Vitamin D are as follows:-

  • fish liver oils
  • fatty fish
  • mushrooms
  • egg yolks
  • liver

Sunlight is the ideal source of vitamin D. The NIH reports that 5 to 30 minutes of midday sun exposure two times a week on the face, arms, neck, or back is enough to provide you with a sufficient amount of vitamin D.

Calcium deficiency

Calcium, a nutrient that helps develop strong bones, teeth, and helps your heart, nerves, and muscles to function at their best. In case your body has a deficiency of calcium, in order to fulfil its demand the body will extract the calcium from your bones, making your bones weak.

The result of the deficiency of calcium does not appear instantly, it takes time and can lead to bone loss. The WHO reports after studying a few countries that the countries having a deficiency of calcium have a high rate of bone diseases; on the other hand, countries with high calcium are at an increased risk of hip fractures.

Also, people of countries, such as the United States, have high protein consumption without any physical activity, leading to poor calcium status and weak bones.

Calcium deficiency may also result in convulsions and abnormal heart rhythms, which can be fatal. In addition, postmenopausal women face a higher risk of bone loss due to changing hormones and face more difficulty in absorbing calcium.

Foods that are rich in calcium are as follows:-

  • dairy products, such as milk, yoghurt, and cheese
  • calcium-set tofu
  • small fish with bones
  • Vegetables, such as kale and broccoli

The Bottom Line

There is a possibility that malnutrition may lead to sexual dysfunctions in both men and women. Men under malnutrition often have erection difficulty, and despite treating malnutrition, some may think of taking ED pills(Cenforce 200). This can be dangerous as Cenforce 200 affects blood flow rate and your heart as the body will be already weak. Consult the doctor before taking any medicine, including Cenforce 200.
