Did you know that in most cases, if you require medical attention right away, it’s best to go directly to the emergency room? While in some situations, this might not be necessary, in others, it’s essential. Whether it’s due to an injury or illness, in some instances, there’s simply no other option but to go straight to the ER when you need help immediately. Be sure that you know the symptoms that require immediate medical attention when you visit your doctor, Rochedale, to get the best treatment possible and avoid any long-term problems due to delayed treatment.

If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, you might require a visit to the doctor. These symptoms might not seem serious, but they can be warning signs of more serious health issues. Make sure to see your doctor Rochedale if you experience anything below over one week or longer to ensure that nothing serious has developed within your body.

Common Cold or Flu

We all have had them, but sometimes it can be difficult to differentiate between these two common illnesses. A cold will normally only last for about 2-3 weeks, whereas flu is more of an illness that will last up to 3-4 weeks. One way to tell if you are suffering from a cold or flu is by looking at your symptoms. If you are experiencing high temperature, fatigue, and headaches, you are more likely to have flu. Whereas if you are experiencing body aches, sneezing, and runny nose, then your most likely with a cold.

Diarrhea

These conditions are usually not serious but can be highly contagious. Symptoms include nasal congestion, sore throat, cough, muscle aches and pains, runny nose, and fatigue. If you have any of these symptoms for more than two days in a row or three days if you’re over 65 years old, make an appointment with your doctor. Be sure to tell your doctor what other symptoms you are experiencing. For example, if you have experienced diarrhea or vomiting within 48 hours of having cold or flu-like symptoms that would alert them that you may be suffering from something else such as norovirus or E.

Headache

Headaches are a symptom that you require a visit to Doctors Rochedale because it could be due to serious conditions. Headaches could range from moderate or mild, depending on how much pain it gives you and could occur for several days in at least four weeks. If you have headaches lasting longer than 30 minutes, you should go for medical attention. Frequent headaches mean that something is going on inside your body and can lead to chronic headaches that will cause disability.

Digestive Issues

If you are experiencing stomach pain for more than 24 hours or are vomiting and cannot keep anything down, it’s time to see your doctor. They will determine whether tests need to be done and what your next steps are. Most people can handle their digestive issues with diet and lifestyle changes—if they start at home. But once you’ve exhausted those remedies, it might be worth speaking with Doctors Rochedale about tests such as an endoscopy (to view your gastrointestinal tract) or stool tests (to rule out food intolerances).

Back Pain

Back pain can come in different forms. If you have sharp, sudden, and severe back pain, contact your doctor immediately. It could be a symptom of lumbar spinal stenosis or kidney stones. A kidney stone in your bladder may also cause sudden and painful urination so see your doctor immediately if it happens.
