Throughout the certification, students will learn how to design, deliver and evaluate personal fitness programs.
How to Get NESTA Personal Fitness Trainer Certificate
There is no one definitive way to become NESTA Personal Fitness Trainer Certification. Many fitness professionals choose to earn their certification through an accredited program, such as the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association (NESTA). Others may find self-study to be more feasible or desirable. Once you’ve examined the different options, do some research to determine which of these paths will best meet your needs. For example, NESTA may offer a course that is both comprehensive and practical enough to earn certification while also being affordable or convenient for you.
Candidates must complete 125 questions in a 2-hour, multiple-choice, facilitated proctored exam within 90 days of requesting exam eligibility ID. Pass with a 71 score or above to achieve certification.
The NESTA Certified Personal Fitness Trainer course is eight weeks long and includes over 100 instructional hours. It covers all aspects of personal fitness training, including nutrition, anatomy and physiology, exercise science, group fitness instruction, marketing and management, and health assessment. Each week of the course includes detailed reading assignments and hands-on labs.
Who should take this certification program?
The NESTA Personal Fitness Trainer Certification is for personal trainers looking to elevate their skills and knowledge or individuals who are just beginning their career in fitness but don’t know where to start. We strongly recommend that students complete either a standard fitness training program with an accredited instructor at least six months before completing our curriculum. The same applies to fitness coaches working toward their personal trainer certification.
Students will complete the NESTA Fitness Trainer Certification exam at the conclusion of program completion and success or failure is solely dependent on three factors:
- Time management
- Interest in learning material while applying it to real-life situations
- Good judgment when asking questions without deferring them too long.
Why Choose the NESTA Personal Fitness Trainer Certification?
The National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) offers personal fitness trainer certification. This certification is grounded in the scientific principles of exercise physiology and emphasizes the holistic nature of fitness training. The certified trainer will have acquired knowledge in anatomy, kinesiology, physical conditioning, sport psychology, nutrition, as well as current trends in personal fitness programming.
