Post-covid nights out: how to stay safe

The world has opened it doors again, with brits now being able to eat out, go on holiday and even go out clubbing! Nightclubs were one of the last things to open, and for good reason.

According to experts, going clubbing is still one of the most dangerous things you can do in the post-pandemic world. To keep yourself and others safe while on a night out, take a Healgen Antigen Test before and after clubbing. Staying safe on a night out goes beyond getting regularly tested – below are some preventative measures you can take to stop the spread of the virus.

Mask-Up

Wearing a face covering is still one of the best ways to prevent spreading and catching coronavirus and this should still be used in the nightclub. Though others may decide not to wear a mask, clubbing can be dangerous without it. Masks don’t have to be boring – match it to your outfit for a stylish moment that is guaranteed to turn heads.

Create a bubble

To avoid interacting with too many people, stick to your social bubble. Whether that be your flatmates or close friends, this can help to stop virus transmission. This is one of the most effective ways to keep yourself and your friends safe. Stick to your group and enjoy each other’s company without straying too far from your core pack.

Keep your distance

Though it can be very tempting to mingle with strangers or dance in a packed space, keeping socially distanced is still extremely pivotal in stopping the spread of the virus. Unfortunately, good ventilation is sometimes impossible in nightclubs due to noise restrictions, so if you do find yourself in a very crowded club, try to move outside or to a different venue.

Remember hand sanitiser

Nightclubs aren’t known for being hygienic, so packing a hand sanitiser in your bag is definitely recommended. Aim to wash your hands regularly throughout the night, especially after going to the bathroom and visiting the bar. Coronavirus can cling onto surfaces for a long time afterwards, so wash your hands as often as possible.

Get tested

Coronavirus can often be undetectable, with many not showing any symptoms at all. This spreads the virus rapidly as people are unaware that they are infectious. Before taking yourself into a crowded area, make sure to get tested. Try the Hughes healthcare covid test for an effective result and take after a night out to slow down the spread of the virus.

Do your homework

Every venue is different, so make sure to research the place you’re going to before starting your night out. Ask questions regarding ventilation, mask policies and their rules on social distancing to not only give yourself peace of mind but adapt your behaviour on the night out accordingly. It is best to avoid places that don’t follow social distancing guidelines, as this may lead to future infection. At the end of the day, it’s about doing what you’re comfortable with.

Get vaccinated

At the end of the day, getting vaccinated is the biggest protector against coronavirus as it can stop you from getting the virus even when exposed to a viral load. This will make clubbing a more peaceful experience, as you worry less about getting and transmitting covid to other clubbers. Obviously, it’s still massively important to maintain social distancing rules and keep a mask on at all times. If you have not yet received the vaccine, book your appointment today on the government website – all UK citizens under 18 can now get the vaccine.

COVID – 19 disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus is relatively a new disease, with fresh information being known on a dynamic basis about the natural history of the disease, especially in terms of post-recovery events. After acute COVID-19 illness, recovered patients may continue to report wide variety of signs and symptoms including fatigue, body ache, cough, sore throat, difficulty in breathing, etc. As of now there is limited evidence of post-COVID sequalae and further research is required and is being actively pursued. A holistic approach is required for follow up care and well-being of all postCOVID recovering patients.
